Huiputus is a rock band from Oulu, founded in 2023. Their music reflects a genuine love for nature and deep amplifier tones. With their debut album Mieletön releasing in late May, this four-piece DIY band arrives in Saariselkä to celebrate May Day. Expect catchy tunes, touching stories, and pure energy in its rawest form.
Saturday: Tobogganing World Championship Free Practice
The Tobogganing World Championships are back – do you have what it takes to become a champion?
The warm-up event starts from 15:00 and offers a chance to practice on the official course in advance. The best outfit will be rewarded, and winners will be chosen by a distinguished jury with unpredictable criteria at 17:00 in front of Lieggâ Láávu.
Schedule:
- 15:00–17:00: Free practice on the tobogganing course
- 16:30: Huiputus live @ Restaurant Lieggâ Láávu
The concert is open to all ages and free to attend.
Sunday: Tobogganing World Championships
Who will be crowned the champions of Finland’s longest tobogganing hill?
Join the competition – toboggans are provided by the ski resort, so all you need is a great attitude!
Schedule:
- 11:00: Children’s categories (toddlers / 4–6 / 7–9 / 10–13 / 14–16 yrs) – free entry
- Around 14:00: Adult categories (individual races followed by team competition)
Participation fee: €10/person or €40/team (4 persons) - DJ Henna K @ Restaurant Lieggâ Láávu 10:00–17:00
- Official afterparty @ Gastropub Giitu – the party continues until late
